@brian_d_vaughn with react-virtualized is there an easier way to rerender a <List> when the data changes but the length stays the same?

Calling forceUpdateGrid() on the List component (requires ref) should re-render it with the new data.
yeah but now i need to manage updates to the list which doesn't feel so nice

Correct... You could also consider throwing a dummy prop at <List> containing your new list. Since <List> is pure it should update when the

The list can be mutable. No need to re-create it just for RV. You can pass another prop (even just an incremented counter) to signal change.
