Not really. There's a bunch of sites that can test mobile web and you can emulate it more realistically with Chrome etc. Native requires emu

It's emulating another machine. To be fast it needs to use whatever is available.

Honestly, I've seen it improving significantly over past few years. I recently used it instead if Genymotion and it's been way better

Developing on device ftw tho. You get to save your cpu, and you also get to see what the real thing feels like. You get to build it right.
