I wonder if the people making paid courses donate any of the proceeds to the projects they're teaching.
Seems just as bad as companies using open source and not supporting it. Actively extracting value and putting additional users on projects.

I have to admit that I've never considered being anything but grateful to companies in my ecosystems building training businesses.

The truth is most (all?) people treat open source as free-as-in-beer. Broken model. Makes me so unhappy.

I'm not sure what the problem is. You did open source knowing that it was free. Don't like it? Don't do it. Nobody's forcing anyone.

Actually, many people and organizations make money out of a lot of open source projects. Sometimes the OSS is the core of their company!

They could donate to it or some OSS project provide hosting solutions and good support, they could use that too, or better - contribute code
