      Nice! Is this new? FB has a special role called UIE (UI Engineer) that is dedicated to frontend/web/JS.

      It is new-ish (1-2 years). We also tried that, but requiring role switch when one wants to do something else sucks.

      Yeah, you can easily switch. The title sticks, doesn't have any implications on what you can work on though.

          You can change title at will at FB. It's useful as self-identification but no implications at all on switching teams within Eng.
