stored as a protobuf instead of json it could be almost the same size even in this edge case. as there is +redundancy i can see the ast win.
what, how? how could you possibly represent the ast of `1+1` in less than 3 bytes?

my reply was in the context of all languages. in java that program may not fit in a tweet for example. in js there is more implicit info.
