If I'm not mistaken, npm5 makes yarn obselete: npm5 has fast install, lock file (even better than yarn's), plus nothing extra to install.
It does and that's just a reverse proxy to the npm registry on Cloudflare. Nothing is hosted on FB. The only logs collected are in aggregate

Plan was to eventually perform more optimisations on the server. Bundling multiple registry requests and tarballs. Smaller bandwidth usage
