Reverse DNS would probably get us the ranges of most CI/cloud providers. IP ranges for AWS etc are also public.
If we want to compare to npm though we're limited to what the npm API gives us.

True. I wonder if Yarn was first to do this too, would they add that feature? Accurate stats on this would be awesome.

People use NPM download stats to show how "popular" something is, but this is completely skewed in reality because of CI downloads.
