I'd love this feature, but I'm worried that it uses package.json syntax that's incompatible with the npm cli. When did yarn depart?
It's had that feature since way before public release. Well over a year.

Then I misunderstood the original "secure alternative npm" mission statement. Frankly a bit worried about the embrace-and-extend approach :(

The "mission statement" has always been "a better npm". Why make Yarn limited to npm feature set? Npm doesn't own package.json
