Voting in the U.K. elections tomorrow. First time voting anywhere! Thankfully all Commonwealth citizens can vote in UK elections. 
I think I jinxed myself because I just received a fine for not voting in Australia...

Yep, Australia has compulsory voting. I can get the fine put aside because I live abroad though so voting isn't required for me.

I've been fined twice for not voting here, even though I did vote each time. The system has it's flaws

I can just fill out a form that says I live abroad and the fine is dropped.
