Thanks for the explanation, but I still struggle to understrand why npm doesn't need package.json and why yarn does, to build the deps graph

Allows you to modify package.json then run `yarn install` and it'll just skip the deps you don't have installed and generate a new lockfile

hi, is there a built-in mechanism to lock the yarn version? i.e. the current version of yarn.lock was generate with yarn 0.24.5
