We did the quick bailout check because the scenario of rouge modification to node_modules is unlikely.

Quick bailout means you can prefix `yarn install` to stuff like your `start` script without any excessive overhead.

We benchmarked exactly this on a project at work. It's really useful given the internal constraints our project has.

people do amazing things to their node_modules. I think at least auto-saving will reduce the likelihood of this but users are creative :o

and when it comes to this? It's the guarantee that matters. When something goes wrong, you want to trust as much of the system as possible.
