Many of the issues described in that thread were fixed in @pnpmjs. Like circular symlinks. It might not work with all the ecosystem
How do you get around circular symlinks? Circular dependencies are extremely common.

We moved dependencies one level up. Dependencies are not inside a node_modules folder of the dependent package.

They are in the same node_modules folder in which the dependent package is
