      For a major infrastructure project pushed by Facebook I’d have expected a team at least. Working with it so far was kind of meh.

      We determined the trade offs were worth it for the simpler diffability. Existing YAML libraries for JS aren't great.

      Also, remember Bundler also has custom format for similar reasons. What's the problem with a custom format if it's only needed by one tool?
