build times are O(l+n) l libraries and n usercode but can be decreased with plugins like hard-source-webpack-plugin DllPlugin.

if you aren't using loaders that access hackily plugin apis from them (ts-loader, awesome-typescript-loader), then use HappyPack

HappyPack will execute loaders and dep graph node traversal in separate node worker threads, helps speed also.
