If you have a dependency that exposes binaries with @npmjs then removing that dep is a semver major since it's breaking as npm puts... [1/2]

Wouldn't that be semver major regardless?

not really. if your module has a dep that has a binary that you don't use it will leak upwards and be in <CWD>/node_modules/.bin

Huh? If you know you're going to be using that binary, why not depend on it yourself?

Side note: if a transitive dep has a bin name that conflicts with another dep then it'll get hoisted instead of overwriting
