@sebmck why not just make it clear that internal apis are 'use at your own risk and subject to change whenever', instead?

@monasticpanic Still doesn't stop people from using them. Under no circumstance should you be touching internal files.

@sebmck no it doesn't, but why care if you don't have to support it?

@monasticpanic Because if enough people use it then I have to support it or break a large amount of peoples libraries.

@sebmck I wouldn't feel that if it was clear they were private but I'm not maintaining so I defer.

@sebmck some non trivial plug-ins are hard to write with the documented API. seems better to have them with no stability guarantees than not
