      Still can't understand why did ES6 ever standardize prototype set via __proto__ in object literal. I'd be fine with Symbol.proto, but this.

      @RReverser Because it was already too late. The web standardized it for us by using it in all implementations. Sucks though.

      @sebmarkbage A lot of ugly stuff appeared in popular browsers during the Web existence. Doesn't mean it all needed to be / was standardized.

      @rreverser This is analogous to ESTree. Pseudo-standard spec that was turned into an official accepted standard. @lbljeffmo @sebmarkbage
