      @6to5js 2 b clear, & in the context of "This is because 6to5 compiles to ES3 syntax" does 6to5 actually produce ES3 code runnable in ie8?

      @codylindley It will produce valid syntax that will run in IE8 but you'll have to include an ES5 shim for certain methods to work. @6to5js

      @codylindley Use `core-js/client/shim`, it includes an ES5 and ES6 shim @6to5js

      @sebmck @6to5js - thanks. Are you are of any es6 to es3 compilers? Seems like closure hinted at this for the future.

      @sebmck @6to5js I think were on the same page. To be clear this would take common es5&es6 features and compile them to es3 with no shimming

      @codylindley Impossible. IE8 doesn't support getters/setters, no __proto__. Many things are impossible to do. @6to5js

          @sebmck @6to5js So, the experimental ES6-to-ES3 transpilation (https://github.com/google/closure-compiler/wiki/ECMAScript6 …) isn’t complete enough to be “possible”?
