Jeykll so far has been my favourite static site generator. Nothing for me has ever come close to being as easy to use. Everything else, including all the React solutions, are very intimidating.

I spent so much time fighting Jekyll in the context of GitHub Pages that it soured me on ever trying it outside of that.
That's actually how I grew to like it! There weren't many solutions at the time where you could just push to a repo and not have to worry about builds.

Most Ruby woes in the past were due to immature hosting possibilities and bad documentation. Modern Ruby with Bundler and Rbenv/RVM/etc. and publishing to
@Netlify is rock solid. No more or less fiddly than Node/NPM/Yarn. We focus on those scenarios for Bridgetown docs.
