Tend to agree and disagree here. Had cats my whole life. From inside and outside. Quality of life for the cat (not by busy road or in a city) was better. However environment wise yes is a problem.

I had a cat who would get anxious and hate everyone if they couldn't go explore and the exact polar opposite that loved being inside. Once again depends on the cat. And the ones that did go outside lived in a safe open space. So they all lived to around the same age.

Crystal died cause she was diabetic and Benjamin died cause he was lonely and lost his best friend. My one primarily indoor cat died for unknown reason.

Indoor cat was 4 years old. The others were 12 and 13 which lived inside and outside. Once again doesn't matter about where they live. However yes if u live next to a busy road or something it will be a dumb move to let your cat be an outdoor cat.
