gitlab does this and it is probably my favorite feature now that I work somewhere that went GL over GH

I've been using Kodiak bot for this and it works great but it really should be a feature native to
@github. It's such a fundamental part of code review. We got auto-delete branch on merge so maybe we'll auto-merge on passing checks soon. cc@natfriedman

This exists in Azure DevOps so I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s on the roadmap for GH too
