Which is why it’s going to be an uphill battle
If you’re fine with a smaller target audience, sure, but it’s another thing you have to sell when pitching the product. Not trying to tell you what to do though.
I don't think having no formatting options will be a hindrance to the success of Rome. Prettier has done a good job of removing those decisions from developers and there is a lot of appetite for making even more decisions.

I'm eager to see how it plays out. Not talking about options (wish prettier had zero) so much as selling the blessed format you choose. JS is so big that the combination of syntaxes makes nice formatting for lots of people hard. Will be interested in your take
