Rome, an experimental JavaScript toolchain, is now open source and available for contributors

It's far from production ready and there's a lot missing. There's no npm release, docs, website, or integrations available. Come help us build them!https://github.com/facebookexperimental/rome …

Just wanted to say that we do use Reason to build dev tools for JS for the user benefits. JS devs don't seem to mind that V8 isn't written in JS. They probably appreciate it. People should use what they want, but it also depends on project goals. Pull requests? Perf? Correctness?

If you were going to write a js dev tool in another language, rust would probably be the #1 choice, not reason.

That's one use case of Reason, certainly–I don't think it's the only use case nor the 'ethos'. Note, that's not a comment on Rome–projects like Rome are exactly what we need to improve the current chaotic JS ecosystem. I do think that tools written in Reason can help.

isn't building it in Typescript promotion of a language deaigned to replace JS? Reason is Ocaml after all, Typescript is aspiring JS.
