A lot of missed points on @sebmck Rome.
It’s all written this way because the vertical integration is powerful and makes sense. Why have a bunch of tools with no knowledge work together when you can have a whole stack that works together by default.

Definitely a good direction. I spent too much time setting up & maintaining tool chain, R&D. Would be happy if this could be decided for me, so I can focus on the actual product building.

Exactly. I agree with this sentiment. Just saying then that it's a tradeoff. And fully integrated IDE May or may not be better as a result. I for one am rooting for Rome. It's needed. It's a great idea. Just don't think it's an obvious silver bullet or better way.

Certainly not obvious *yet*, but decades of toolchains have proven otherwise. I am excited to see a properly vertical stack.
