What if I told you that it's okay to vote for someone who is unlikely to win, so long as you believe they are the best candidate for the role. Don't let anyone tell you that you cannot vote for someone.
It's okay as in, you can do whatever you want. But unless you live in a country with ranked voting it does require being okay with "throwing your vote away" to vote third-party.

To me, a vote is a vote. I refuse to believe that any vote is a "throw away" or "a vote for the other candidate".

Actually, in the last election if the libertarian candidate received 5% of the popular vote they would no longer have to spend money to get on the ballet making it easier to run. So voting 3rd party can be good.
