This includes displaying the remote URL rather than the local disk path when producing errors and other output. Clicking on the URL however will open the editor with the local cached copy.

Rome now has first class support for URLs alongside file paths. This allows you to use a URL anywhere a file path could be used, and it will be downloaded and cached. You may be familiar with this behaviour from deno and regular browsers.pic.twitter.com/OUO8NksAln

cool! would support of an "import-map" type thing help out as well? that way each different file that imports jquery doesn't have to go change the URL when you want to update it - you can just update it in one spot?
