BlackVue is a popular brand of premium dashcams. They have "cloud" functionality that allows them to be updated and view footage remotely. Last year they had a privacy snafu. Dashcams connected to their cloud were public-by-default.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XaoI2Fltoxs …
I had the Cloud setup and was even considering getting a mobile hotspot to keep it always connected. Impact notifications while parked would have been really cool. Very relieved that I looked into it more within an hour of activating it (even though it's opt-in public now).

Parking mode impact notifications have been useless for me. I think it uses the GPS to determine if the car is Parked, because it tends to notify me of an impact when I go over the curb while leaving the driveway. All other impact notifications are just me closing a door / trunk.

Ah yeah, I think it uses GPS too. Which is ridiculous since I have it hardwired to a BlackVue battery and it can already determine if the car is on or off. Luckily our car is equipped with Hyundai Bluelink which has impact detection and works over the cars existing modem.
