Even if your video feed is private, for some reason they still show your location on a map unless you explicitly disable sharing your location publicly (the orange dots). They have to be connected to WiFi in order for this to work. Some connect it to their cars in-built hotspot if it has one. But most people seem to have theirs set to the home WiFi. I took the screenshots during the day so most of the cars aren't home. At night there's a lot more.

No idea why any of this bullshit is even a thing to begin with. Who even wants a public network of shared dashcams? What purpose does that serve? I cannot think of scenarios where you would want this. BlackVue already have an offering for people who manage vehicle fleets.
