i wonder if thanksgiving would be as big of a holiday in america if people were given a humane amount of time off from work, so they could visit their families more often rather than sit in traffic and cram into airports on the same few days around the country
It’s a common time that everyone can likely have off. How would you coordinate time off between so many family members which is the biggest draw of Thanksgiving?

yeah it does seem valuable that it's culturally agreed on as a time for family to come together and also a national holiday! it certainly solves a problem, but some parts of the solution leave something to be desired
