Amazon except it shows stock of physical stores. Opening up specific store apps is a pain and I prefer to buy stuff in person than online, especially if the discoverability was the same. Am I alone?
I love the Target app for this. It shows stock levels for all items and even has a map of the shelf location. I want something to aggregate all the stores though since Target doesn’t sell everything. Home Depot, Best Buy, Walmart, Safeway, Whole Foods.
Benefits of physical retailer pickup: - Same-day delivery (lol) - I can see the item before buying it - Easy returns - I’m not supporting Bezos
I often wish I could search google maps for a specific item, and have it tell me the nearest physical store that has it in stock.
Brickseek is great for checking stock of physical stores.
So square could probably make a mega store out of all the people using their POS. Most POS/inventory systems are unique per industry and not even online, but yes I feel like this would be a cool way to support local businesses, especially if shipping was an option :)
We are never there to receive the package after all…
