So does any other skill they use, such as JavaScript or programming as a whole. A framework isn't going to fill their hiring pipeline in any meaningful way. Might as well abstain from computers since they could make you look more hireable for all sorts of bad jobs.

also factor in the onboarding time. most companies this size have 3-6 month onramps to learn the stack.

If most people in webdev end up learning React it sounds like this also benefits folks who move between companies and can onboard *there* quicker too.

That wasn’t true when React started and for the first few years. So if recruiting is the “main” driver then are you saying that the main driver has changed over time?

Definitely, recruiting wouldnt be a realistic goal for a new framework. Almost all OSS is created first and foremost to solve one’s own problems ;)
