Happy this tweet resonated with so many. Disappointed that I don’t have anything more to offer on the broader conversation of office environment and remote work.

Don't like open spaces? Or it's more about your personal atmosphere home?
-
Personal atmosphere. I can slack off and be more casual. 80% of my work time is spent procrastinating doing random things with bursts of code.

You can also control those at the office
-
Not really. I sit by a window that has automated shades controlled by facilities. Even closed there’s a lot of ambient heat. What aspects do you mean?

For me: Being in the office is great for developing ideas and figuring out the right direction for something. Working at home is great for implementing. Being in the wrong place when you're in the other 'mode' is really frustrating.

I feel you. When it comes to writing, I’m infinitely more productive from my home. But when it comes to strategizing, that face time makes all the difference.
-
I've been working mostly remote for a year now and I'm not sure I could ever go back. Office days serve their purpose but I also have a lot of permanently remote people on my team (which I realize may be different for you) so face time often involves webcams even in the office
