      I refuse to use Webpack. Alternatives: https://github.com/rollup/rollup  https://github.com/parcel-bundler/parcel … https://github.com/facebook/metro

Why do you refuse to use webpack ? Is it just a formulation or is it motivated by something else ? 😗

Toxic management and I genuinely believe there are better existing solutions out there.

Sry if you’ve got that impression.. Personally speaking, we’re trying our best and we spend a lot of our time (for free, even) to make it better. Is there anything in particular we can improve?

Kick Sean Larkin from the project. He continues to poorly represent Webpack and have awful interactions with many members of the community.

I think that these kind of tweets are unfair towards other maintainers who probably work hard and for free on webpack.

Working for free doesn’t change anything. If others are working hard on Webpack then they should feel compelled to protect their own work by getting rid of other toxic “maintainers”.

Agreed that it doesn't change anything – it is not cool either ways IMO :) Agreed on the second part as well but until then I would rather address the toxic "maintainers" directly rather than the project as a whole.

A majority of the toxic interactions are involving promotion and discussion of the project. Doesn’t fee unreasonable, especially given they have tried to be a face of Webpack.

Yeah in fact I appreciate when you call them out publicly. I just had a thought for the other maintainers who probably don't deserve the bad publicity. Probably it is just me empathizing too much with "the unknown maintainers".

I do agree it’s harsh. But people have discussed this with him in private, and including publicly shaming him. What would be the next step? His private interactions are 10x worse than public. Maybe that’s why the rest of the Webpack team has given him a pass.

Yeah I would probably talk to them and then kick them out in case they don't behave but it is probably more complicated than that.

I don't know the org structure and what is his role in the org. It is not rare to find some authoritative core members that act more like project owners (because the were the creators or something) and can make those decisions.
