After few months using Android on a Galaxy S10, I feel like I'm in a pretty good position to compare it with iOS. I have not used an Android phone other than an S10 so my experience is limited.

I will not accept "Pixel is better!", Google phones are still such a small percentage and not how a majority of people experience Android. Here are my complaints:

- Notifications enabled for apps by default - Battery draining. I have literally never had to worry about battery management with iOS. - Battery optimization. Spotify kept being killed while I was driving. Turns out it's because the battery algo decided that I did not want it?

- Chromecast discovery is somehow even worse than iOS. It takes much longer for devices to appear and connecting is even more flakey. - Constant nags to restart my phone to retain "good performance and user experience"

- Google Apps are worse. Google Maps on Android seems to get all the bad experiments. I have a survey nag at the bottom of my navigation screen at all time. I am asked questions constantly with distracting prompts while driving.

- Share screen is terrible. I have to scroll down to find "Copy to Clipboard". It's never at the top despite it being what I use 90% of the time. Once there was two "Copy to Clipboard" buttons. Except one would make the app crash. Crash Roulette.

- I hate notification prioritization. Give me chronological notifications please. - Installing apps feels dodgy. I have to pick between the Play Store and the Galaxy Store. I feel terrified installing financial apps.

- Broad permissions. Apps constantly asking to access all of my storage and location (indefinitely I guess?). - Fingerprint ID in apps is gross. The UI seems to be specific to the app implementing it.

- Device seems way more carrier tied. I have two phones and switched AT&T sims. Visual voicemail is now broken. No Wi-Fi calling either because I am not using the special AT&T S10 image...?

tl;dr My S10 battery drains quickly, notifications are bad, I don't trust any of my apps, carrier features are neutered, and overall most things are worse. I'll still probably use Android. Only because I'm fortunate to also have an iPhone.

Another significant downside has been autocorrect. Maybe I got used to specific iOS autocorrect quirks, or maybe it got used to me. But I make so many more mistakes when typing on my S10.

Fair criticisms. * I've never been promoted to restart after 12 months with an S9. * Don't use Galaxy store. Make a call on Google vs Samsung ecosystem and stick to it. * Use Gboard. * Being able to use different browsers is amazing.
