      Replaced by artificial scarcity of high quality products? I.e. you remove them from people that can’t afford so that people that can pay for them feel justified doing so. Like high fashion or Apple. I’m so glad there are business models that encourages giving it away to everyone.

      I had $0 for literally anything until I got a job at 18 so I am definitely empathetic to pay walls

          Remember when you could watch anything for free on piratebay and didn’t have to pay $10 to 5 different streaming services to still have nothing good to watch?

          I wanted to learn C++ but my parents couldn't afford a compiler and I didn't know about GNU. Then I realized I could learn JavaScript with IE, and now I'm here. Book stores were paywalled too, though. Maybe torrents/scihub are our modern libraries?
