It's the style library I worked on and started! 
It's called "stylex" because we have a bunch of other "*x" JS libraries that are compiled away. The name "stylex" was a natural fit since we wanted to compile as much away and give engineers the same association as the other x libraries being "free".

What are the advantages over styled components?

- much smaller CSS files with atomic styles - consistent predictable style composition - type safety and being able to add constraints on style props through types. - automatic RTL conversions - minimal runtime overhead through compilation
