Turns out the hardest thing for accepting donations for OSS work are... taxes (at least in Italy)
Yeah... I've asked some OC maintainers how they deal with it and have received responses varying from "I don't need to file taxes (what)" and "I tax it all as income" which are both bad.

Yeah, technically you're somewhere near a freelancer doing this, or an employee + freelancer. Either way, you'll need an accountant and a lot of other hassle. (That's why I put >= my current salary for me to do open-source full time in a recent poll)

I’d open a company in Denmark (or similar). It’s easy, cheap (~100 EUR), no accountant needed, and ready in a day. Expenses can be deducted (incl. salary), ~20 % tax on leftovers. Treat yourself as an employee or freelancer of it depending on what’s easiest privately.
