I strongly recommend @pnpmjs as a great JavaScript package that has all the features you'd want from a modern pm, including workspaces, and has always been developed by a community free of corporate pressure or interests

I will never endorse yarn, regardless of their claims about being disconnected from Facebook. In the end, they'll be Facebook's puppets until Facebook stops using yarn altogether.

I'm over arguing about the association and involvement of Facebook but I do agree with the overall premise that people should stop using Yarn

There are other solutions that are more maintained, sustainable and reliable. Yarn v2 will be a disaster and I do not have any faith or trust in the current maintainer.

That’s a pretty inflammatory thing to say without providing any details. Is this just your personal opinion or is there something users of yarn should know about?

It is my personal opinion as the original creator of Yarn. Opinions may be shared by others who have also worked on Yarn. Make up your own mind as a user. FB has had zero v2 usage so take that for what you will.
