When Lerna changed their license to forbid usage from ICE collaborators a lot of people got angry because it was no longer free software" and was "mixing politics and sofrware". Big fuck you to those people. Would love to see a more formalized version of that license.

Figuring this balance out is hard for me too working in gov. If you're not visibily against some of what Facebook do, even if you're doing good work to protest internally, are you elevating Facebook's brand by doing cool open source on their behalf?

I was pretty vocal about the PATENTS license issue. There is definitely an implicit suppression of public views whenever it gets "close to home" that I struggle to reconcile with, however I am very vocal with expressing my disdain internally
