Works. Return does not allow a line terminator before it's expression. ReturnStatement. ExpressionStatement -> RegExpLiteral.

Ah. But ASI can not trigger when the next line starts with a forward slash ...

That doesn't matter. Return explicitly cannot have a line terminator between the keyword and the start of the expression. This isn't really ASI.
