For Ken to realize that the "outrage" does not solely come from one thing. My tweet seems pretty direct.

You're responding to a different situation. There has been numerous other people discussing toxic behaviour that has been grouped with the white supremacist accusations. I'm pointing out that they are not the same and that the criticism shouldn't be brushed off because of it.

Ken is complaining he is being attacked purely for someone accusing him of being white supremacist. I pointed out that people are always complaining about OTHER problematic behaviour. Dismiss the white supremacy shit, because he is not, but do not dismiss the rest.

As “offensiveness” is determined by whether anyone takes offense, it is impossible to say without asking literally everyone. But we can imagine a “reasonable person” in everyone’s stead. Perhaps this exercise illustrates the absurdity of the offense-taking olympics. 1/n

This is an impossible conversation to have without talking about specific instances and scenarios, both online and in-person. Which I'm not willing to do given the subject matter, and for the privacy of others.

I literally mentioned there are other things that Ken has done. Now I'm being dogpiled because "it must not be that bad" and accusing me of mischaracterizing the situation for my own benefit. Ken is my friend. But that doesn't mean I have to kiss his ass when he fucks up.
