Why do people give a platform to those they disagree with? If someone says something overtly ridiculous and harmful, why broadcast it? Am I missing something that somehow makes the situation better?

People who don't follow me and don't understand the context of this tweet, are replying and accusing me of wanting to suppress speech and dissenting opinions.

Same people also evidently don't understand that freedom of speech does not mean that we have to embrace that speech and proliferate it as free individuals
