FWIW, that's the generic message for InvalidStateError (https://searchfox.org/mozilla-central/rev/5e660d3dfcba897c8501e3fda1d415565a096e7e/dom/base/domerr.msg#19 …). Updating error messages to be more descriptive (or filing bugs asking to do so) is generally very welcome! See https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1541861 … for a recent example I mentored.
