Didn't realize how difficult it was to get started with TypeScript compared to Flow. With Flow it has decent defaults so an empty `.flowconfig` is enough to get started. Having to install type definitions for Node in TS was another hurdle. In Flow they're built in.

To clarify, when I say "their interactions aren't necessarily stable", I'm referring to my experience with other tools that have a bunch of interacting options. So far TS has been great, it just makes me feel very uneasy.

I've been a heavy TS user for a few years now and some of those options in tsconfig are still super confusing to me. esModuleInterop vs allowSyntheticDefaultImports? typeRoots vs types? Do I want es2017 or esnext in my lib array? Should I turn on incremental compilation?

You'll wonder but the TS documentation actually have almost nothing on language itself. It's a huge drawback for it and serious obstacle for folks who want to get start with it.
