Btw NPM is not an open source company. It’s a closed-source company that happens to get its client shipped with a popular language platform.
I don’t think that’s bad, btw. It’s fine to build closed-source things. Their posture here is just weird.

Technical? No. I think for years they were all up on dockerhub as public images anyway. The config/operational infra required to make them useful made them a bit of a pit trap for the unwary, though.
