AFAIK their policies are nowhere near as stringent as Facebook's.

I think they're mostly auto reviewed, but are flagged for manual review if they get an unusually large number of x-outs, and low-quality or misleading ads get removed very quickly. Also FB ads can't run any custom JS nor can they load any images from third party servers.

(they're two very common attack vectors in some other sketchy ad platforms - malicious scripts, image-based exploits like buffer overflows, and swapping out images on third party servers)
