I don't want anyone using it because it has X person associated with it. I want it to be used because it's actually useful rather than some flashy new thing that people feel obligated to jump on.

Well reasoned
FWIW (probably nothing
) I think this is the best approach
Curious how you plan to deal with the nosiness you mentioned. -
I probably have rose colored glasses or overestimate the level Babel was at when I left. I think I was reasonably good at quickly shutting down unproductive conversations and guiding the project in a cohesive direction.

I think you should generally release when you are ready to open the floodgates to feedback both positive and negative that you might actually incorporate. Releasing too early when even you don’t know what your project is yet can definitely be negative in my experience.

I've definitely been in situations where I'm constantly telling people “it’s not done yet”, but not really have a path for them to contribute. It's not great to tell people to just wait around for you.

I for one am truly hyped about the things I've seen you tweet about Rome. And I don't think it has anything to do with your previous work as I was completely unaware it was yours :P before this thread. Goes to say that Rome peaked my interest in its own :)
