Could be just an oversight. Maybe that code is generated, not hand written and this slipped. Tbh this is only a problem in ie11 and at Apple I don't think they care much.

You know that you can serve a different version of the JS file depending on the User Agent, right? function(){return x} uses 20 characters, _=>x uses 4, 5x times more efficient if you take advantage of user agent.

Why would they have to support older browsers though?

It's an SDK you embed in your own website. Some companies have support for older browsers. With the new Apple guidelines they will be forced to add web login if they have iOS login.

The bigger problem is that it's SDK only without any Android / RN / Flutter version. This is such an insidious way to fuck with developers
