There was something quite nice about gulp/grunt/requirejs/browerify in the sense that the source code was from a period where the readability of code was priority number 1. It is hard for me to understate just how much I learned about programming from these codebases.
Omg yeah, in the 6to5 days everyone was super concerned about the readability of the compiled code. A lot of people saw it as a major advantage so we had to make it a priority.
I remember looking at Traceur output, vs 6to5. I literally couldn’t understand the former, and knew debugging it would be a nightmare. Choice was obvious. Looking back, it’s also possible I just picked a bad example. No matter - I bet on the right horse either way
