React has massively influenced the way I write non-UI code. I do a lot of imperative OOP code with mutations but then prefer a declarative immutable API when crossing module/package boundaries. Becomes a really nice balance. Local mutation is ok!

Curious what that looks like, any example to share?
Nothing specific. Only ever mutating properties that originate in the same file. Keeping really clear guarantees around not only types, but when local data structures can be manipulated.
